So since when did Windfest go from being a show where manufactures showed their wares to extended showrooms for retailers? It's one thing to assist distributors with local support and doing all the work with no distributor support.

What point are you trying to make? Windfest is a show where distributors (i.e, manufacturers) work with local dealers (i.e., shops) to make demo gear available to the public. Your sentence above doesn't compare anything to anything, and even if it did; I'm not sure what your point is...

Moving the event to Stevenson has been suggested, and considered, unfortunately liability and insurance concerns will keep Windfest at the Event Site. It's a bummer, but not much can be done about it...

Hope to see some of you there.

Josh, What I was trying to say was that in the early days of Windfest a distributor would bring a product, say a line of sails, to Hood River. They would bring multiple quiver bags with sails, masts, booms, and extensions all on the distributor's dime. The local shop would help with setup and support the distributor anyway they could. Now the local shops are being asked to make a financial investment in purchasing booth space, providing all of the necessary demo gear at the shop's expense , and supply man power away from the shop, with little support from distributors. Not all shops have the deep pockets to do that.

Here's some windfest pics.
There were some great clinics - including Jass Voss, Wyatt Miller and others.
During the wind drought, many folks were trying out SUP in the calm river.
The wind eventually came up Sunday afternoon so everyone could get a session in!
