From the article...

Quote:
The shark may have confused the wet-suited swimmers with his prey, he said.

Finally the answer: Let's all windsurf nude. Then we won't be confused with the shark's prey.

Yup, think the last guy bitten at Bolinas was on a yum yum yellow long board.

Red and white for me.

Met the last guy bitten at Scott Creek a couple of years back at the gas station at Gazas.

Was surfing and whitey popped up for a snack on his leg on the inside, nice set of scars to show for it!

As a European I was thinking my Speedos may be good protection.

If they put everyone else off, why not whitey?

Actually, swimming in the ocean can be dangerous to your health.
Let me clarify, swimming in the ocean with great white sharks can be dangerous to your health Shocked

This just hit the web

SOLANA BEACH, Calif. - A shark attacked and killed a swimmer Friday morning who was training in the ocean off San Diego County with a group of local triathletes, authorities said. The shark was believed to be a great white.

See the whole story if you're hungry for a shark story

Nothing like a good meaty shark story prior to summer time.
Mitch

A veritable nightmare come true. I've had a bit more extra-sensory awareness of their presence lately. While it's probably just all of our talk of Whitey lately, I'm still going to replace my downhaul line, etc., forthwith.
One person's days have reached their final number. Roughly 24,000 and no longer counting. There's some irony in that the guy was a retired veterinarian. I wonder how many animals he'd saved over the years? Tough experience to precede your curtain call. Maybe I'll throw a prayer in with my nightly bow, just in case I'm wrong about everything. Actually, I'll defer my nightly bow until tomorrow. I can't top that one, and hope I never do.
My condolences to his family and friends. Sad
