Ventura Sailing

Unfortunately there are no windsurfing shops in the Ventura area anymore, and I'm unaware of any rental opportunities that might be available.

Windsurfing is kind of unusual sport in Southern California. One would think with all the beaches and the multitude of access opportunities that the sport would florish, but that's just not the case. There used to be more folks into it, but many have turned to kiting instead, as they can better leverage off the lightest of winds, which tend to be the standard fare. Actually, kiting is quite popular at C Street, and it could be that more options are possible down that track, but I really can't say for sure.

I have sailed a C street several times....but several times I have turned around and went home without even rigging. What do you guys watch for to make sure it's going to blow? I live in Ventura and I'm not picky I just want to get out and sail. Is it going to blow this weekend or should I head for Isabella for some nuking lake sailing?
