Tomorrow looks like we could get decent waves and decent WSW winds.
Enough freestyle at Kalmus! Its time for waves! Where can we get good frontside wavesailing? Pt Judith?

Deep Hole, in the Matunick/Pt Judith area has sideshore wind in W for frontside riding, but if it goes NW it'll be pretty nasty there.
Horseneck, in Buzzards Bay, is also sideshore in W. That's where I'm going if it's windy. The waves should be good at both places. Both places are also good if it goes SW, although it'll be an onshore wind, harder to go down the line.
Anyone have any other spots?
The 6:00 pm forecast doesn't sound very good. I'm going to check the 7:00 am update.

S or SE are the directions that really build up the swell at Deep Hole. I think the perfect conditions are when it blows like stink from the S for a day then lightens a little and switches to W. What you get is left over swell coming in in sets with a sideshore wind and small chop. I caught one day a little like that last december but I had about 1/2 hour on the water before it went NW and I had trouble just getting back to the beach. Picture is from that day.

Yesterday, Friday, I went out on Nantucket sound. Lotsa chopped waves and very difficult gybing or tacking in light winds. I really think wave sailing is easier, and it's definitely more fun. Why don't they make a video about sailing in chop?

Who are "they," Brucie?
Anyway, let me know when and where you're sailing in chop and I'll bring my video cam. Should be an entertaining show.
