Anyone sail yesterday, Tuesday? Air temps were rather warm as they have been for days. The local windmeter is down, so I can't verify my personal experiences. As the only windsurfer at my location, I had no feedback except a kiter who verified that we experienced some rather gusty conditions. However, I was shocked when I looked at the archive. Today has been forecast similarly as yesterday. However, the winds definitely were much stronger than forecast. |

I was out at West Dennis yesterday. Was kiting on a 8 meter. by 5:00pm I was very overpowered. People windsurfing were on 4.5 and less. If I had my windsurfing stuff with me, I would have rigged a 4.2. Today looks like it might be stronger. |

Well it's good to see some reports coming in. I did the noon time shift at Kalmus today. Proud to say I Hung on to my 4.2 to 1:00. For those of you don't know me, skin and bones, a nick below 140.
It was quite a happening, the lot was packed. Cars for CT and NH too.
Alot of the "regular crew" plus a few kites.
Grade "A"
Next up, Saturday AM in CC Bay!

Glad I made Kalmus yesterday
Hit the beach at 2:30 with Jeff, just before it started nukin'
Started out with a 4.7 on a 105L, quickly changed to the 85L, getting nice ramps out at the channel and beyond before the gusts went off the charts (see yesterday's wind graph).
Ended up on the 85 with a 4.2, dialed in and smilin' for an hour between 4pm and 5pm. 45+ knot gusts rock, just a teeny pop, and the wind does the rest.
See ya upside down
(6'2 150 ... for sail size/reference) |
