As do military leave policies and early retirement. 6 weeks per year of vacation beginning in Year One and retirement at 20 years allow for a lot of shred time.
Of course, there's that other little thing if your timing is unfortunate.

People are starving in the world and all you can do is whine about a forecast.
Wholly crap.
If the service is so useless don't use it. Bad restaurant, don't go back, it's pretty simple.
You live in an area where there are a zillion micro climates, but two brain cells together and you might figure out forecasts are a guide.
I sailed Sausalito to Crissy and back Sun for fun, can't beat that, I had to be so brilliantly intelligent that I looked through a clear glass window at the water and saw it was windy, wasn't smart enough to look at the forecast.
Give these guys a break. |

You have a wholly cool clear glass window...If I had a window like that, I wouldn't need no stinkin sensor OR forecast. But I wasn't brilliantly intelligent enought to use my two brain cells and buy a house overlooking SF bay.
Also, I never got the windwhining/starving baby connection before. Thanks for pointing that out. |

And where I lived and sailed for many years, we had to base almost every trip on forecasts, because the three lakes we used were each about 180 miles away. Current wind data was useless, 'cause anything could change (or it could get dark) if we waited for wind to leave home or the office. All early wind did for us was get us speeding tickets because, "But, officer, can't you see it's windy" doesn't help.
