|

Dear fellow boston sailors,
the forecast is calling for north winds tomorrow. What is sailable in Boston in those conditions? Pleasure Bay? Nahant?
I think I have figured out where to go for all other directions, but a North wind is new to me.
Thanks. |

North is good for both Pleasure Bay and Nahant. The lagoon at PBay will still be off-limits during the day, I think. North is side shore for Nahant so it should be good. |

Thanks for the information. Sounds like Nahant will be a great choice. |

Where on Nahant?? Never sailed there, was planning on Seabrook Harbor, NH, until this a.m.. Following a map to get there is easy but where on the little island would you launch? Looks stronger on the Cape but I drove it last weekend..anyones thoughts? |

Actually most of the windsurfing is done at Lynn Beach, but everyone in the windsurfing community calls it Nahant. You can find it at the end of the Lynnway. |

If you're willing to drive...
Green Harbor (NNE to E)
Duxbury Beach (N to E)
Duxbury Bay , north of the bridge (NW to ENE)
Sagamore Beach (N to E)
Chapin (N)
Corporation (N) |

windbob is right. It is Lynn Beach. It's a long beach next to the road to Nahant. Check Google maps. It's off Rt 129. You take the road towards Nahant, the beach will be on your left. The entrance to the parking lot is almost in Nahant. Parking is $3 in season. The windsurfers park way down near the end of the parking lot. |

I am Doug from Long Island. If you ever get down to NY, check out Plumb Beach. It is on the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn. Here is the forum.
