Hi I have a course HPL carbon boom which is just a little crack on the front end (carbon). Is there any way of laminating it with say epoxy with the clothes around the little craks to strenghening a little bit? Say the West Marine epoxy kit?
What do you recomend, since the boom looks really good besides that
Thanks,

Your boom is dead unless you can change out the arm. This is the usual failure mode for carbon lay ups. Next thing will be a cracking noise, then maybe a few minutes of sailing ,then the boom half will let go, breaking the tailpiece. |

Have to agree with both posts. Unless you can repair it as LeeD says, your boom is dead.
Ive repaired several. Eventually they break again. But you can get another season or two.
In fairness, my best repair was extremely strong, better than the original, but one day I ran aground hooked-in. Not many booms would survive that. |
