Well, I shelled out the 3 bucks for the entrance fee at the Sebastian Inlet State Park and went out to the point for sailing. I was there sometime around high tide, but I saw exposed sandbars in the path of my reaches. Some had become bird sanctuaries. Is this the normal venue there? It seems that I spent most of the session trying to stay upwind (a North or N.E. wind) of these shallows. It didn't seem to me that this was a very good location for windsurfing at all. Next time I drive up that way, I will try Clam beach, but I wonder if I'll find it just as shallow. I didn't see any exposed sandbars from the road, though. So far I prefer launching from the North side of Wabasso Causeway as there's some depth to the waters. |

Yes, the venue you visited is the normal venue of the place you visited.

No need to wonder, just head out at low tide on a strong offshore day.

Seriously, go for the hidden sandbars. |

Well, I'm heading out for Wabasso Causeway today. The wind has picked up dramatically while the temperatures have dropped. One thing I didn't mention was the dead stingray I saw on the beach at the point. Now, I know they are out there. |

Perhaps instead you might be on the lookout for the living variety. |

Not a problem, Brucie. They don't hurt.
Much.
