Hatteras Wind Forecast

Any good suggestions on where to get good wind forecast data for Hatteras. Hate to make the drive down AGAIN from DC to get skunked.

Hard to beat iWindsurf. they have plenty of weather stations down there too.

Iwindsurf forecasts are pretty darned good down here, I also check windguru for a generic computer model idea of what's approaching for the week ahead. While the models are generally reliable, this is just a little strip of sand out in the middle of the ocean. Sometimes fronts speed up, sometimes they stall, sometimes they disappear before they even get here.... I'm no meteorologist, but I do understand that there are quite a few variables involved!

Or, the next time you're feeling "skunked" swing on by Sailworld, and I'll hook you up with a Serenity for an afternoon, or a surf lesson, or a SUP, or go to Frank and Fran's and get a fishing rod, or......... There's lots of fun stuff to do here, even when the wind doesn't blow!

No doubt about iwindsurf having the best and most wind models available! I often check the page with 4 different models for a better idea of the wind possibilities. Great tool, indeed. No disrespect meant by mentioning windguru, I just check there to get an idea of the swell direction and period, in addition to the wind. That's all!
