I just moved back from Corpus to California after 14 years.
Corpus does have Great wind, the best time is late Feb., March, April, then it picks up again in late September to October.
In the peak summer there will be thermal winds on the Corpus Christi Bay that will start in the evening @ 5pm, but you can sail until @ 8:30pm.
It is HOT!!!HUMID!!! the water is even HOT. The air temp is about 98-100 degrees, 98% humidity, and the water is about 87 degrees. There is no shade!!! There are jelly fish lurking in the brown water, so wear a lycra shirt.
I believe the windsurf resort they are refering to is on Bird Island, it is a beginner spot, flat & shallow, campers & RV's stay there in winter & spring, no shade!!!!! The thermals do not happen there!
As far as non-wind activites...you need to know somebody with a ski boat (great water skiing there, or a sail boat...they have Wed. night races on the bay.
