i just spend a woderful week in Sorobon beach at Bonaire, 3/22 to 3/27 and had an incredible time . first three days were in the 30 to 40KNTS winds. Go to Bonaire and rent from my friend Roger At the windsurf Place since they have a much variety of equipment form 3 m sails up to 8 m and low volume boards, which the comp. does not have anything less then 105 ltr. Great place to master your jibes and waterstarts since is always shallow.
If you go try to stay at Eden Beach Resort, nice place and close to everything and rent a car. Have a nice trip

I book my vacations at sailboardvacations.com
They have two choices , ask for the windsurf place instead of jibe city. Their website is www.bonairewindsurfplace.com to check their site but try to book it with sailboardvacations which can arrange a package with car rental and try to pick Eden beach Resort as your hotel.
Ps: Ive been in Margarita too and is very good, but Bonaire is the place to master everything.
have a nice trip |

My girlfriend (beginning jiber) and I (expert wave sailor) have been to bonaire 3x and believe it is one of the best places for learning as the bay is shallow (2 deep), water flat and exceptionally clear (80 vis, turquoise blue) and free of hazards (no offshore fluky winds like Aruba, no biter sharks). We always rent from jibe city and believe they are more laid-back than rogers. Bonaire is very clean and civilized, though more $$ than margarita. As you improve you should consider margarita as you have larger advanced area to sail and more bump+jump. You need to be expert to sail outside LacBay and the inside of the bay gets boring for advanced sailors. We go back to bonaire because it also has great diving/snorkeling. Have also been to barbados 3x and dont recommend it unless you are advanced and into wavesailing. |

You might want to check out Tims website to help make your decision. He comes to Margarita every year and makes daily posts of pics and text of what he has been doing. His web site is http://www.tts-inc.com/ then go to Margarita05. |

Thanks for your detailed tips. Bonaire sounds like the place for mastering skills. Have you been to Dominican Republic? |
