Totally agree. I use Classic IW almost exclusively and the wind direction indicators are imperative.

Hi Gang,

The recent revision to the new iW/iK website caused an issue with the information sent to the ancient classic iW website.

Our tempest.earth IT team will have the arrows fixed as soon as they can reincarnate an equally ancient programmer. ; )

Meanwhile, use this link:
https://wx.iwindsurf.com/map#37.884,-122.278,11,19

The great advantage of this link is that you can look at the wind in the Coast Range Gaps before you make your drive. If the gaps to your west or east of your launch site have unfavorable wind wait before your drive.

Hi Oldgrommet,

Maybe no Coast Range but you sure have 2 big mountains that create a single sided venturi. Take a look at this link and notice how the mountains accelerate or block the winds.

I use this link before doing a downwinder from Ho’okipa to Kanaha.

Say hi to Chris and Annie!

Thanks Mike,

Yes, we do have two big mountains! And it’s amazing how the wind direction improves when it’s not cloudy over the isthmus and inland heating. Local low pressure sucks the trades in so that the winds cant more favorably. Yesterday, cloudy, so winds were more up and down and more easterly. I will add your link to my wind data folder as an additional tool!
