Hey Malibu, I tried the Trump defense the other day and it failed as badly. I was driving down the street at the legal speed limit of 35 mph approaching a red light. I could see up & down both directions of the cross street I was approaching & there was no traffic in view so I blew through the red light at 35 mph. Dang if there wasn't a cop who saw me run the red light. The SOB gave me a ticket even though I argued that "EVERY BODY RUNS RED LIGHTS" and "NOBODY GOT HURT". I tried the same argument in traffic court & got the same laughter.
The Tucker Carlson/Malibu conclusion is nobody is going to drive down that street again because they can't run red lights.
My conclusion is different. People will drive down the street again because now they know that people who run red lights will actually be held accountable for running red lights.
So you see Malibu, we are both correct. We just have different perspectives of the law.
