Wing foil Bethel Island by Sherman?

Is there a safe spot to wing foil over by bethel Island, east of Sherman, perhaps just east of bethel Island by sugar barge or to the West by big break north of oakley?

Kinda OLD news.....
When I was learning to kite in '00, Scott of WS Diablo invited me to kite off that island on Discovery Bay.
Driving past Antioch, it was obvious the wind in Pittsbug was easily 20-25, meaning Sherman was close to 30.
We boated out from w Discovery bay in really light breeze, arrived at the island in winds of 7-15, rigged up, and kite until 6pm.
Around 7, I swung across the Antioch Bridge to Sherman. Local said it was 20-30 all day, and holding steady past 8pm.
Hmm....
And having sailed Bethany a handful of days, 3.9 and glass board, looking NE to Discovery Bay....I doubt D Bay blows past 15 more than 20 days in the whole summer.
Now, N winter and S rain winds are a different story.

Thanks dlee. Where specifically is the spot you describe in your reply where it sounds like the wind was less consistent and less strong. You said you went there by boat from Discovery Bay. Just trying to figure out where that is.

Boat launch was SW of that island, behind Scotts house. No public access back then. Wind is wind. If you find water access all you need is wind.

Boat launch was behind Scott's residence, southwest of that island. Back then, there was no public access. Wind is what it is. All you need is wind if you can obtain water.
