Follow the money is a cliche used frequently by investigative journalists while discussing politics. It won't help you find widespread corruption, but if you do, let us know. You will gain a better understanding of which businesses are contributing to the elections you care about and how your candidates are using the funds they have raised. Consider subscribing to ProPublica's User's Guide to Democracy to learn more details such to this.elastic man |

Politics and money is a contentious subject. Money's entry into politics has made it possible for businesses to purchase influence that changes the structure of our economy. A huge amount of money is still funneled into campaigns, even in congressional races when results are mostly foreseeable due to the party makeup of the state. Large-scale financial involvement in politics undermines public confidence in the government, reduces voter turnout, prioritizes corporate interests, and fosters corruption. Money can be used to corrupt democratic actors and institutions so that they favor particular groups and their interests. shell shockers 2 |
