Enjoy a simpler shockumentary about El Gato Diablo. Not particularly focused on current events, despite the affiliation.
Pretty tame considering the more sinister background described in Falconers' documentary, but near the end it shows a new possible connection not mentioned in any of the other videos.

https://newatlas.com/medical/maternal-sepsis-death-reduced-antibiotic-azithromycin/?utm_source=New+Atlas+Subscribers&utm_campaign=51d00fe669-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2023_02_13_09_07&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_65b67362bd-51d00fe669-%5BLIST_EMAIL_ID%5D

Maternal sepsis and death greatly reduced by single-dose antibiotic

Quote:
The randomized controlled Azithromycin-Prevention in Labor Use Study (A-PLUS) enrolled 29,278 women from low- and middle-income countries who planned to have a vaginal birth. Women were drawn from countries that included Bangladesh, Guatemala, India, Pakistan, and Zambia. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation co-funded the study.

The study found that of those women given a two-gram oral dose of azithromycin during labor, only 1.6% developed sepsis or died in the six-week period after delivery, compared with 2.4% of women in the placebo group. Results also showed that women administered azithromycin were less likely to develop endometriosis and had fewer hospital readmissions and unscheduled visits to health professionals compared to women that received the placebo.

Azithromycin had no noticeable effect on the risk of stillbirth, newborn sepsis, or newborn death, which remained comparable between the azithromycin group (10.5%) and the placebo group (10.3%).

“We hope that our findings will be applied to help improve maternal care in low- and middle-income countries around the globe,” said Alan Tita, MD, PhD, who co-led the trial.

“These findings have the potential to change clinical practice by providing a safe, effective and low-cost approach to reduce the global burden of maternal sepsis and death,” said Dr Diana Bianchi, director of NIH’s National Institute of Child Health and Development (NICHD), the primary funder of the trial.

"We urgently need effective strategies to prevent pregnancy-related infections, which account for roughly 10% of maternal deaths worldwide," Dr Bianchi said.

When it comes to global health, Bill Gates is one of the most influential forces — including for pandemic preparedness. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation committed more than $2 billion for the global Covid-19 response alone. Knowing what one of the most powerful individuals in philanthropy views as a priority is important for understanding how that might shape the trajectory of future preparedness. Today, Gates argues for an idea he’s been pushing for: A system of pandemic responders who are ready in case there’s a crisis.

The World Needs Pandemic Firefighters
By Bill Gates

Quote:
Imagine there’s a small fire in your kitchen. Your fire alarm goes off, warning everyone nearby about the danger. Someone calls 911. You try to put the fire out yourself — maybe you even have a fire extinguisher under the sink. If that doesn’t work, you know how to safely evacuate. By the time you get outside, the fire truck is already pulling up. Firefighters use the hydrant in front of your house to extinguish the flames before any of your neighbors’ homes are ever at risk of catching fire.

‌We need to prepare to fight disease outbreaks just as we prepare to fight fires. If it is left to burn out of control, a fire poses a threat not only to one home, but to an entire community. The same is true for infectious diseases, except on a much bigger scale. As we know all too well from Covid, an outbreak in one town can quickly spread across an entire country and then around the world.

When the World Health Organization first described Covid-19 as a pandemic just over three years ago, it marked the culmination of a collective failure to prepare for pandemics despite many warnings. And I worry that we’re making ‌‌those same mistakes again. The world hasn’t done as much to get ready for the next pandemic as I’d hoped. But ‌‌it’s not too late to stop history from repeating itself. The world needs a well-funded system that is ready to spring into action at a moment’s notice when danger emerges. ‌We need a fire department for pandemics.

I’m optimistic about a network that the W.H.O. and its partners are building called the Global Health Emergency Corps. This network of the world’s top health emergency leaders will work together to get ready for the next ‌‌pandemic. Just as firefighters run drills to practice responding to a fire, the Emergency Corps plans to run drills to practice for outbreaks. The exercises will make sure that everyone — governments, health care providers, emergency health workers — knows what to do when a potential outbreak emerges.

One of the corps’ most important jobs will be to ‌‌take quick action to stop the spread of a pathogen. The speed of action requires countries to have large-scale testing capabilities that identify potential threats early. Environmental surveillance like sewage testing is key, since many pathogens show up in human waste. If a sewage sample comes back positive, a rapid response team would deploy to the affected area to find people who might be infected, implement a response plan‌‌ and kick off the necessary community education about what to look for and how to stay protected.

As C‌ovid-19 demonstrated, a pandemic is a trillion-dollar problem, and mitigating this challenge should not depend on volunteers. We need a corps of professionals from every country and region, and the world needs to find a way to compensate them for the time they spend preparing for and responding to transnational threats. They must be able to deploy teams of professionals on standby to help control outbreaks where they start.

To be successful, the Emergency Corps must build on existing networks of experts and be led by people like the heads of national public health agencies and their leads for epidemic response. ‌It’s difficult ‌‌for any one country to stop a disease from spreading on its own — many of the most meaningful actions require‌‌ coordination from the highest levels of government. The world needs to prepare for a multiple-alarm fire — the type of fire response that requires different units and departments. These kinds of blazes are rare, but when they happen, there’s no time to waste. Local responders need to know they can count on a surge of well-trained firefighters who will work seamlessly together. They can’t arrive on the scene only to discover that their hoses don’t fit on the closest hydrant or that they have a completely different approach from the other units. The Emergency Corps will make sure countries and health systems are coordinated in advance of an emergency, so that everything runs smoothly during times of crisis.

This is where practice makes perfect. By running drills and simulations, the corps will uncover the areas where ‌countries and leaders are not ready and help us fix them now. ‌It’s important to practice for lots of different types of pathogens, too. Human respiratory diseases are a huge concern, because they can go global so quickly. (Just look at how fast Covid spread.) But they are far from the only threat. What if the next pandemic-potential pathogen spreads through surface droplets? Or if it is sexually transmitted like H.I.V.? What if it’s the result of bioterrorism? Each scenario requires a different response, and the Emergency Corps can help the world get ready for all of them.

We can’t afford to get caught flat-footed again. The world must take action now to make sure Covid-19 becomes the last pandemic, and one of the biggest moves we can make is to support the world’s principal health experts — the W.H.O. — and invest in the Global Health Emergency Corps so it can live up to its full potential.

‌‌This will require two things: First, public health leaders from all countries need to participate. The next ‌pandemic could emerge anywhere, and so the Emergency Corps must have expertise from every corner of the globe, including from national disease and research agencies like the C.D.C. and the N.I.H. in the United States. Second, we need wealthier countries to step up and provide funding to make this a reality.

‌‌I believe the W.H.O. remains our best tool for helping countries stop disease outbreaks, and the Global Health Emergency Corps will represent massive progress toward a pandemic-free future. The ‌question ‌‌is whether we have the foresight to invest in that future now before it’s too late.

Bill Gates, a co-founder of Microsoft, is a co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the founder of Breakthrough Energy. He is the author of “How to Prevent the Next Pandemic.”

The most mind-blowing series of documentary videos of all!

How did I miss these before? The latest entry was just added, but that's not 'til the end. The news to me is contained in the third segment. If, on the unlikely notion that you've watched some other documentaries on the Gates family history, and are already familiar with the Foundation's evil escapades in India and Africa ... or if you're just sick of hearing about anything virus/vaccine related, then I suggest you skip to 29:45

Who knew the dark history behind Starbucks? Or about Bain and Co, quite possibly the most evil corporation in the US, pound for pound? Headquartered right here in Boston, of course. Who knew that Mitt Romney was so well connected to these most sinister people?

Everyone else should simply watch the whole thing. I promise you will be as captivated as you are shocked. You may want to skip the first 2 minutes, which are nothing but audio/video hype.

Darling site for the far right and the libertarians who are demanding Federal bail outs for their alternative currency Ponzi schemes.

The emergence of the newest platform favoured by far-right actors has received surprisingly little attention in the midst of ongoing news about Parler. Odysee, a YouTube-like video hosting platform, was launched at the end of 2020 following a beta version that went live in September.

The interface of Odysee is nearly identical to YouTube. Users can upload videos onto their channels, viewers indicate their approval by liking videos and leaving comments, and the homepage lists popular topic categories of videos trending on the site.

Despite these similarities, there are some notable differences with Odysee, much of it due to its underlying infrastructure. Unlike big tech companies, Odysee was created by the same team behind LBRY, a blockchain protocol. While YouTube stores video uploads onto its centralised servers, Odysee works like a peer-to-peer data exchange distributed over a network in order to avoid centralised servers. This underlying tech is not necessarily new. Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin use the same blockchain technology, a sophisticated version of earlier upload/download peer-to-peer system designs like torrents.

Odysee also runs on open-source software that is driven by public developers, not managed by corporate tech giants. The data itself remains secure through a vast distributed, transparent, and traceable network. On the other hand, this public dimension means that open-source data is not subject to regulation by government authority or industry.

Odysee is not inherently a platform for far-right or extremist content creators. For many, it primarily serves as a backup, or secondary, library. But for YouTubers that have been banned or demonetised, Odysee serves as an attractive option. Upon public release, the platform recorded 8.7 million users since beta testing began in September, thus delivering potential for a wide audience. Popular channels include a spectrum of far-right commentators ranging from right-wing academic Jordan Peterson, alt-right YouTuber Tarl Warwick, and MAGA pundit Elijah Schaffer who participated in the US Capitol insurrection and popularised the false narrative of the 2020 election result as illegitimate.

Another notable feature of Odysee is the income generation model. While YouTube creators primarily rely upon advertising revenue dependent on the number of views, Odysee offers three options for monetisation. The first is earnings per view, in which users with a validated account receive payments in the form of LBRY Credits (LBC) designated as a ‘tip’ in their ‘wallet’ based on viewers with validated accounts. This works like a type of reward system. Earnings are determined by rates for each channel subject to “average watch time, average view count, type of content, engagement, creator location, price of credits, etc.” Users that receive a high amount of credits perform better in search results and have their content appear in top and trending lists. The total number of LBC earned is listed on users’ channels.

A second form of monetisation is tips from viewers, or direct donations. Viewers can select the ‘support’ function on individual videos and choose from a range of amounts in LBC. These tips are then distributed to users. Users can redeem tips by ‘unlocking’ LBC in their wallet with the option to choose the amount to unlock. However, users are encouraged not to unlock the full tip amount since unlocking reduces the boost of a user’s content in search results, trending, and discovery suggestions; the default unlock setting is at 25 per cent of the full amount. LBC can be exchanged for non-digital currencies but must first go through a cryptocurrency exchange. Odysee recommends digital currency exchange platform Bittrex Global and Bitcoin as a cryptocurrency.

The third monetisation option that Odysee lists is site/app promotions. However, no further information is provided on this scheme, and will likely be posted in the future as the platform grows.

Odysee’s community guidelines state that “content that incites hatred or violence towards a particular group,” “content that incites violence towards a particular group or person,” and “content that promotes terrorism” is not allowed on the platform. Whether or not these guidelines will be enforced is left to be seen, but it is important to note that these are merely guidelines, not legal sanctions and immutable of removal. This poses a serious dilemma for governments, law enforcement, industry, and civil society actors on regulating the sharing of extremist content and propaganda.

As social media platforms transition from older models of operation led by big tech towards community-driven decentralised blockchain networks, our approach to countering potential terrorist activity and content also has to shift to reflect these new standards. The technical challenges of this approach are not easy, but not impossible either, particularly when working in collaboration with relevant state actors and intermediaries. Applying pre-existing frameworks on illegal content removal, such as terrorism materials, can be used to prevent illegal content being introduced into blockchain in the first place.

A more straightforward and productive approach is working with digital currency exchange platforms to target users financing terrorist and extremist activity. As I detail in my forthcoming book on alt-right influencers, the cryptocurrency trading platform Coinbase has taken steps to remove customers who violate terms of service, such as receiving funds for promoting hateful content. The transparency of blockchain technology allows anyone to trace cryptocurrency transactions, including that of extremist users. A step in the right direction would be to include digital currency exchange providers such as Coinbase and Bittrex as members in the Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism (GIFCT) working in partnership with other technology companies.
