I wear more neoprene than most people here in the Gorge, because I dress for the swim. I fall in a LOT, but I'm very comfortable in board shorts and a rash guard this time of the year ... the same way I dress for summer sailing in Hawaii. One summer years ago was so warm that I felt no need for any neoprene until the last day of September. This year has been the opposite, warranting some neoprene well into July, even August. I would have a full-blown thermal meltdown if I wore a good shorty on a warm day now that the water is 70. |

Maui still wants tourists, just not middle class tourists. If you can afford the Four Seasons in Wailea you’re still welcome.
Seems like a good reason for me to broaden my horizons. I’m going to Pacasmayo for the first time this year. |
