A Humpback Whale was breaching over and over and over off of Pleasure Point so I windsurfed out to watch him. Amazing performance! Many total body out of the air and back slams that were loud enough to hear from over a half mile away and creating splashes as big as houses. To throw around 40+ tons totally in the air over and over again must have had that whale burning a ton of calories.

Well I was out windsurfing at an undisclosed location when what to my wondering eyes should appear? A large great white shark floating in the sky obviously immune to the effects of gravity following its breach. Actually, it was a blimp. Disguised as a shark and floating around over Aptos Shark Park. Then it came further up the coast and I could see "Shark Week" in big, big letters on its sides. Besides promoting 'Shark Week' I wondered if it was filming as well to provide content for the show. If anyone watches Shark Week and sees a blue and yellow windsurfing sail in the footage, please drop me post in the Message Center here. Would be interesting to peruse.

"Falls among adults 65 and older caused over 34,000 deaths in 2019, making it the leading cause of injury death for that group."
As someone in this age group, I can't remember how many times I fell this year from winging activity. Should call myself lucky.

Glad I'm past that age group.......
Luckily, I only seem to fall once each run, sometimes twice, so there really aren't that many chances for injury.
Still remember learning duckjibes at Oyster Point in '84. Some days, we'd crash 79 out of 80 attempts in ONE direction.......the other direction, we might only crash 60 times...but trying regular jibes.

5.4 with JP slalom board this Wednesday at 1pm. It was challenging because there are more holes than in the past due to the building development around Genentech. I was blown out of the water at Tigers with the 25 to 30 mph gusts, but had to uphaul three times at the point. I plan to wing it tomorrow to see if it's mo bettah..
