Our pal Steve Walstead, who posted often as Windoggie, died today. Surfer, windsurfer, funny contrarian, artist, always stoked! We miss ya pal. And love you. Two woofs and howl at the moon!

The name did not register until I saw this photo. Remember many conversations with him at Pt. Isabel. Rest in Aloha.

Yes, I believe he was responsible for giving our group of old guys at PI and Hs Lordships the name "Grim Reachers." He will always be with us on the water in SF Bay. I asked his widow, Peggy, if I could make a charitable donation in his memory, and she suggested Save the Bay(https://savesfbay.org/). Her email for notification of contribution to this or another charity is PLWalstead@gmail.com. RIP dear Steve

While I never had the good fortune to meet windoggie on his home turf, I always enjoyed his notable sense of humor here on the forum. He will be missed.

I never had the good fortune to meet Windoggie, but I laughed out loud many a time at his posts. Could it be that he had the best wit among us? In any case, we all would be better off if we could bring his jovial outlook to bear upon the proceedings. The windsurf community will miss Windoggie (and has been missing his Wind Doggie.

I finally found an old thread as a tribute to our fallen comrade windoggie who made the forum more fun. 2 woofs!
