|
|
I am 59 and about 30 pounds above my ideal weight; loosing weight for me is literally a question of life or death for some health problems. Bert mentioned that he lost 15 pounds while wingfoiling, so two days ago I put his claim to a test. I took a day off and spent almost entire day (from 8 am till 3 pm) on the water. The wind was 12-15 knots with some gusts up to 20; my 7 m Duotone Echo wing allowed me to foil most of the time. I took few short breaks, kept myself hydrated, and had an energy bar for a lunch. At the end of the session I was tired, but not exhausted; I would have been able to ride for 2-3 more hours if not for some family obligations.
To my pleasant surprise, next morning my scale showed a 3 pound weight loss; the loss is stable as of this morning. Now I have an official excuse to wigfoil for my health. |

Quite honestly, I did lose weight (15 lbs.) when I took up wing foiling 2 years ago because it was quite hard for me at 70 yrs. old to learn how to do it. I'm the stubborn sort so I kept at it over and over until I began to figure it out which made for the weight loss. Once I got to a comfortable level with the wing the weight came back. Now 2 years on the wingfoil I find it not too physically challenging at all. This year I am going back to good old fashioned hardcore windsurfing to beat this old body into proper shape

I've always assumed these guys are either 8 years old or are prepping us for a troll link to their ghost-writing cheat site. The latter has been borne out several times.
Back on topic, never forget that exercise is for fitness, food is for nutrition. i.e., weight lost in in the gym or at play can be regained in just minutes at the dinner table. Shorter yet, we can't outrun our fork. |

Testing and obfuscating. He's checking if he can post at all, and building up a few posts so that his spam posts won't be his very first posts. Some discussion boards require a certain number of posts before you can post links. |
