The CGW2 will have it's final swap meet of the 2021 season on Sunday Sept 5th 8:00 am to Noon-ish at The Hood River Waterfronts Lot #1 (directly South of The Event Site) The event is free for buyers. There is a $10 entrance fee for sellers.
Could be big. The CGW2 has a large amount of boards, booms, and sails to unload. Great deals to be had. Lots of kites and miscellaneous gear, including ski, bike, camping, etc.

You can donate to the general public via advertising on various websites (Craiglist, Gorge.net, etc.), Gorge newspaper free ads, and the Columbia Gorge Wind and Water Association directly DURING the swap (which goes from 7 to about noon). I have also seen some free gear posted at beaches. But, of course, any free junk left behind is technically littering, which is a crime. So, if it does not disappear before you leave, you must pack it out.
Volunteers are usually needed by the CGW2 for unloading and loading, etc.

Heads up, out of state visitors: Oregon's lovely governor has decreed that the police will arrest anyone violating her baseless order that everyone, outdoors, in gaggles that might discourage social distancing, vaccinated or not, must wear masks. Bring' em.

FYI - The CGW2 has become more selective when it comes to what they will take when it comes to gear donations.

I hate to break it to ya, Biff, but your governor is a she, not a he, and the statement was formally issued to the media on camera this week in a Q&A interview broadcast to the public. Despite flying in the face of science, her A's to media Q's clarified and emphasized exactly what she and I said. Ignore it if you like, but please don't leave others at risk due to your lack of awareness.
