So is jibing. The in-the-straps carve 360 works though.

None of that's gonna happen until I get more confidence and stop weighting my back foot. Time to let go, broaden my grip and lean into the turn putting my weight forward.

I'm too fascinated by waves. Do you sail side on, side, side off? Easy waves? What about size? |
Manuel, I'm lucky, I live near some pretty amazing conditions where we get some amazing side off days. Occassionally mast high sets but those are usually during hurricane season. Lots of chest to logo high sets. If you can take 40 F degree water and 39 F degree air, there's some good times to be had. I'll take Isobars recommendation for my next bucket spray!

Heading to SPI in 2 weeks to kick off the season. Let the faceplants and hooked-in catapults begin! |
Best spot to work on your jibes, will be tons of fun!

Sounds like a nice spot that will help you achieve your goals!

Yep, taking some lessons from Petra Kanz of H20 in SPI. Petra is a badass windsurfer/kiter and an excellent teacher! Been working hard on the simulator this winter (when not snowkiting, skiing, or working) and studying everything I can get my hands on. Lovin' the Tricktionary3 book and intuition video from Guy Cribb.
I pulled off quite a few carve(ish) jibes last year. Just need to clean them up and come out ripping! Stoked for water season. Until then.....

Petra is outstanding. I got to work with her when she was with ABK

Beware of carve fascination, flip the sail sooner, and slide your new front hand back on the boom ASAP.
