I can't say for sure where foils would be best, but watching the tides can be very helpful. Low tide, it's pretty shallow everywhere until you get well off shore.

Salvo is shallow. Kiting frendly, SUP, Freestyle or shallow weed fin. I would not foil.

Compared to any other OBX area Salvo day use Area is more consistent in water depth, includes Bartonís . The area of your video is from a ramp from a house, looks just north of Salvo day use area, naturally some areas may have more or less depth.
Any, the Hole, Transformers, Planet of the Apes, FriscoWoods Camp,Isabels, Buxton has access that are consistent with Frisco Woods.
I have seen foil at the Hole, I assume they survived.

No I wouldnít foil in Salvo, no I wouldnít foil. I run aground with quad fins.
Your Severne lines are handsome, mine the same, I wish they made unis

Exacting where I thought within a house.
My opinion remains is the same about depth, from memory Bartonís may be better.

Oh one area what I donít feel has a shallow area is Island Creek, Iím not saying it is deep everywhere .

Just returned from Hatteras. Lots of wind foilers sailing at the Canadian Hole and staying within the near shore limits of the hole. Plenty of sailing room for them - looked like they were having a blast.

If it's anything like in the past - there's overhead deep water on the inside, about a quarter mile to the east and flanked by sand bars at the north end of the parking lot and to the south towards kite point. Not sure how it works out with other sailors - this is launch/jibe zone.
Weeds used to be a problem later in the season, which would be nowabouts. So that'll spoil the fun I'd imagine
Salvo day use area used to be left to kiting, too shallow. Barton's (aka Emilie's, for those old timers) can get real shallow too until you get a half mile out.
Island Creek really used to be the best bet for consistent fin clearance on long reaches even when the sound got blown out on a NE.
