No sympathy for stupid people. Attending a rally with no social distancing or masks? Dumb fuck. |

If he had promoted what doctors and medical science have been saying all along, I'd feel much different. If he was an advocate for the health care workers message, I would praise him.
He undercut their message and promoted the opposite message and then expects health care workers to fix him.
I have no sympathy for stupid people in this situation. |

If you read the comments after the article, you can see how deep into tabloid paranoia Trump and his minions are. The virus was created in a Chinese laboratory under the direction of Dr. Fauci.
In the real world, we have known since AIDS that viruses harbored in animal populations can cross over to humans who have no immunity. AIDS probably came from the green monkey in central Africa, and was spreading rapidly through heterosexual sexual contacts while those who became Trump's base called it the gay plague, sent by god to punish homosexuals.
The densest population of animal viruses is in bats. So research to try to assess the human risk, especially if done outside the US, becomes fuel for tin foil hat theories. The object of those paranoid theories is to preserve Trump's presidency and strike out at the "elites" who are to blame for everything.
When we entered the Second World War, we made the sacrifices necessary to preserve freedom in the world and halt the slaughter of Jews and other "undesirables." I'm not sure the heroes of that effort would recognize Trump's America. |
