With the new minimalist write up format for the present day forecast (in the old site) am I to assume that the tables with the "sub-region discussions" is now the go to location for the forecast?

I ask because in the past I asked why the tables did not match up to the written forecast and was told that the write up was the go to - for forecast accuracy - and the tables weren't updated.

Now that there really isn't a sub location discussion write up like 'Central Bay' does this mean the tables will now be up dated and accurate?

Thanks

Hi WNDZRFR

In the past we had text information for each site in a bullet right after the long forecast discussion.

Now we have moved that same site text so it is right below each site's table. That way you can see the table and the text at the same time. See the image below.

For example While the Pt. Isabel table may show the winds building to upper-teens to low 20's the text below the table may say "Winds stronger towards Brooks Island and may fade outside around 4 PM"

Before forecasters had to scroll up and down ≈ 18 inches between the bullet they were writing and the table while remembering the guts of the table they had just looked at. This was laborious and prone to mistakes. Likewise, customers had to scroll up and down between the tables and the text and try to remember the qualifications etc.

We are also soon adding tables for sites like the racetrack, Ocean Beach etc. with their own text.

Doing all of this sounds easy but there are coding implications and things may be messed up a bit the first week. We are hoping that once we all get used to this it will be easier and more accurate.

It would be nice to get the point data back again.
Where you could hover over a recorded point and the
text data for that point was displayed . Like wind direction
high , low and average, temp and maybe pressure.
Used to be feature on the old site .
