Not much time left. Ok I have made a few but I'm not very consistence. Most often my board turns back down wind after the sail flip. I can stay dry all day if I bring the board down before I turn. My go to windsurfing jibe is a sail flip first then step, lots of speed, sheet in and a nice lean forward or a duck jibe.
It seems that if I step jibe The board come down but it doesn't turn back down wind. Anyone else have this issue and how did you over come it...

I suspect that when you do the step, you step in front of the front strap....which puts your balance way forward...down comes the board. Try stepping directly into the new front strap with the new front foot.

Board turning back down wind weather regular windsurfing or foiling is generally the same problem, shifting the weight to the outside of the turn or basically carving the board back the way you came.

Second on sliding your front foot directly into the front strap; stepping in front drops the board to the water.

another vote for putting your front foot straight into the front strap on the foot switch. also, try to sheet in gradually without leaning back like we would do normal windsurfing... just let the foil glide and power back up gradually (I think you are using a large front wing)

I posted a couple jibe vids that show my footwork

step jibe: https://youtu.be/6Qow2G3TG8A

carve, duck, and step jibe: https://youtu.be/bYtfOfZBThA

Kevin thanks for the video. One big thing I noticed is your quick foot switch from strap to strap. I think I need to react quicker. Thanks again..

hope the vid can be of some help. the foot directly into the strap was a big tip i got from somebody (can't remember who).

I think foot switches in foiling are tough but not as tough as they seem. I keep thinking of "be quick but don't hurry" when I'm switching my feet... seems even worse on the wing board. Also, the foot switch has to be a pretty deliberate movement... the fewer the steps and less shuffling the better me thinks. With the windfoil, you we at least have the rig weight to help keep the nose down.

This video was key for me to consistently fly through my jibes
Sam Ross foiling videos are excellent (even for freeride foils)
