the hardest part of convalescence is doing nothing

Oh, I did far from "nothing". I worked out most of my body, mostly with one hand on my belly for feedback. As long as my abs didn't tighten, I wasn't stressing my stitches. Ditto after my prostatectomy, colon half-removal, and knee/ACL repair, and more. I also get into the best shape I can before any scheduled surgeries, despite some doctors telling me "You don't need to do that; I'm all you need."

Idiots.

Docs out there, tell me if I'm the idiot, that prior conditioning doesn't help recovery.

I would want to feel comfortable doing my everyday things, prior to windsurfing .

I was ready to tell you all about herniated disks until I saw this is a different kind of hernia.

that sounds even worse Sad

i am taking it easy - after four(4) weeks feeling much better
as wife suggested - no ice or snow windsurfing until 100% (or close)

some discussion in this post and on this link was discouraging to me

https://forum.slowtwitch.com/forum/Slowtwitch_Forums_C1/Triathlon_Forum_F1/_inguinal_hernia_and_recovery_P4538579/?page=-1

perhaps my double hernia with 22 staples was just worse ??
in any case - one thing i have learned is - patience
slow n steady wins the race in my book

was planning to practice with a 3 m² training kite up north
but my wife reminded me - can easily fall on the ice
crap
oh well

happy holidaze and do try n be careful
at least a little bit
ALL THE BEST
