It was awesome! Sailed solo from the pebble beach at Aunt Carries/Bon Vue which is just north of the Pt. Judith Lighthouse. Was blowing NNE 35-45 mph with some occasional gusts to near 50. There was a 6-7 foot swell. from the SE. The big waves were perpendicular to wind direction making for ramps on the way out and rides on the way in. Occasionally there would be some 3/4 mast high waves as well. Probably got about 3 hours of sailing in before I quit.

Sounds good! Where would you go today, and when? I like to sail at least two people to keep an eye out.

The first place that comes to mind is Yirrell Beach, Winthrop MA.

Yirrell is my personal favorite in the Boston area, but do not know if anyone is planning or will be sailing there. Have always sailed there by myself. Maybe the fact that it is in the winter probably has something to do with it. But the spot has a good fetch, has a protected launch but some nice breaking waves a little bit upwind. If something goes wrong you will end up on the beach.

Here is video taken further up the coast. Believe it is the Narragsett Town Beach.
