'No Blame?' ABC News finds 36 cases invoking 'Trump' in connection with violence, threats, alleged assaults.

Quote:
President Donald Trump has repeatedly refused to accept any responsibility for inciting violence in American communities, dismissing critics who have pointed to his rhetoric as a potential source of inspiration for some citizens acting on even long-held beliefs of bigotry and hate.

"I think my rhetoric brings people together," he said last week, four days after a 21-year-old allegedly posted an anti-immigrant screed online and then allegedly opened fire at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, killing 22 and injuring dozens of others.

But a nationwide review conducted by ABC News has identified at least 36 criminal cases where Trump was invoked in direct connection with violent acts, threats of violence or allegations of assault.

In nine cases, perpetrators hailed Trump in the midst or immediate aftermath of physically attacking innocent victims. In another 10 cases, perpetrators cheered or defended Trump while taunting or threatening others. And in another 10 cases, Trump and his rhetoric were cited in court to explain a defendant's violent or threatening behavior.

(MORE: 7 key questions about the threat of domestic terrorism in America)
Seven cases involved violent or threatening acts perpetrated in defiance of Trump, with many of them targeting Trump's allies in Congress. But the vast majority of the cases -- 29 of the 36 -- reflect someone echoing presidential rhetoric, not protesting it.

ABC News could not find a single criminal case filed in federal or state court where an act of violence or threat was made in the name of President Barack Obama or President George W. Bush.

The 36 cases identified by ABC News are remarkable in that a link to the president is captured in court documents and police statements, under the penalty of perjury or contempt.

In many cases of assault or threat, charges are never filed, perpetrators are never identified or the incident is never even reported to authorities. And most criminal acts committed by Trump supporters or his detractors have nothing to do with the president. But in 36 cases, court records and police reports indicated some sort of link.

Trump again backs racist groups publicly. Defending their right to be white and hate others.

They have rallied against, among other things, transgender people, Muslim people, and, for some reason, masturbation. Above all else, their target is the overall “feminization” of Western culture, or the idea that masculinity has been slowly degraded by leftist ideology; their core beliefs can best be summarized as a mélange of neofascism, Fight Club-esque hypermasculinity, and early-2000s-era hipster trolling. (The obsessive focus on hypermasculinity is all the more ironic in light of the origins of the group’s name, a deleted musical number from the Disney movie Aladdin called “Proud of Your Boy.”) Samantha Kutner, a researcher who works as a consultant for the anti-extremism group Light Upon Light, refers to them as “a violent crypto-fascist-extremist organization,” noting that “every element of that title has data to support that.”

Ohio white nationalist with weapons arsenal arrested after threatening a Jewish Community Center

Quote:
A self-described white nationalist has been arrested after threatening the Youngstown, Ohio Jewish Community Center. WFMJ has the details on the arrest of James Reardon, Jr.:

A video allegedly posted by the 20-year-old New Middletown resident on July 11 on Instagram, shows him firing multiple rounds, which is legal. The caption under the post led to his arrest. It said, "Police identified the Youngstown Jewish Family Community shooter as white nationalist Seamus O'Reardon."

New Middletown's police chief tells us I-R-A Seamus was the online pseudonym for James Patrick Reardon.

New Middletown Police Chief Vince D'egidio said, "He was implying that he was going to be identified as the shooter of the Jewish Center. That kicked off a very intensive investigation, a very rapidly evolving investigation."

Weapons seized from James Reardon, Jr.
Weapons seized from white nationalist James Reardon, Jr.
Law enforcement searched his home and found a large weapons cache of multiple semi-automatic weapons, ammunition and body armor.

James Reardon, Jr. was one of the attendees of the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, where rally-goers marched through the streets chanting “Jews will not replace us!” He’s been charged with telecommunications harassment and aggravated menacing and is being held in the Mahoning County Jail on $250,000 bond with a court hearing planned for Monday morning.

Only a week ago, law enforcement arrested another Ohio man for threatening federal agents. 18-year-old Justin Olsen was arrested at his father’s home, where authorities discovered a large number of semi-automatic weapons, body armor and more than 10,000 rounds of ammunition.

We are in a national crisis and white nationalism is a domestic terror threat to us all.

Since El Paso and Dayton massacres, 14 people arrested for threatening mass shootings

Quote:
Since El Paso and Dayton massacres, 14 people arrested for threatening mass shootings originally appeared on abcnews.go.com

In the wake of the massacres in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, authorities across the country have arrested a number of suspects who have allegedly threatened similar mass shootings.

In the 21 days since the back-to-back mass shootings, 14 people, by ABC News' count, have said they were plotting or expressed interest in carrying out mass attacks, according to local police and federal law enforcement.

The threats came in the weeks after the FBI underscored its concern that "U.S.-based domestic violent extremists could become inspired by these and previous high-profile attacks to engage in similar acts of violence."

"The FBI asks the American public to report to law enforcement any suspicious activity that is observed either in person or online," the statement said.

Tips to the agency's National Threat Operations Center increased since the beginning of the month, according to a statement the FBI sent to ABC News on Saturday.

"Such increases are often observed after major incidents," the statement read.

(MORE: 26 shot in 32 seconds: New details, videos released in Dayton mass shooting)

In its count, ABC News did not include threats allegedly made by minors or other individuals who police determined did not have the capabilities or weapons to carry out the attacks.

Trump Encourages Violence From His Supporters. They’re Listening.

President Donald Trump riles up his base with veiled threats of violence. His followers at rallies and protests can’t help but latch on.

President Donald Trump this week issued a thinly veiled threat of violence against his opponents, saying that members of the police, military and biker gangs could “play it tough” if they “reach a certain point.”

It was a disturbing remark, but even more disturbing is the fact that it’s part of a long history of Trump encouraging his supporters to engage in violence. Largely unchecked by his party’s leadership, Trump’s rhetoric has become normalized despite its real-world ramifications.

“I have the support of the police, the support of the military, the support of Bikers for Trump,” Trump told Breitbart in the interview, which he later tweeted. “I have the tough people, but they don’t play it tough until they go to a certain point, and then it would be very bad, very bad.”

“I think it sounds very much to me like he’s encouraging them to engage in something that’s probably illegal such as assaulting people, you know behave in a dangerous way,” Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) told MSNBC. “That sounds like a threat to me. I think it’s appalling.”

The president later deleted his tweet as news began to trickle in of a mass shooting in New Zealand that left at least 49 worshiping Muslims dead on Friday. While there are no signs that the suspect was a close follower of Trump, he did mention the U.S. president once in his rambling manifesto, calling Trump “a symbol of renewed white identity and common purpose.”
Trump has previously banned those from majority-Muslim countries from coming into the U.S., keeping families apart under a racist policy.

Militiamen and nascent neo-Nazi terrorists jump to attention when Trump tweets about 'civil war'

Quote:
RSS

To the surprise of no one, the people most excited about Donald Trump’s tweet warning that “civil war” would erupt if Democrats were to remove him from office via impeachment have turned out to be some of the very same far-right extremists who have been loudly fantasizing about a violent civil war.

Alex Jones’ Infowars was all over it immediately, of course, declaring that “America’s Civil War Is About to Get Hot,” while also warning: “If Trump falls, you and your family are next.” The Gateway Pundit dismissed Rep. Adam Kinzinger’s statement of concern about the tweet by calling him a “Never-Trump squish.”

Meanwhile, at the Twitter account of the far-right “Patriot” group Oath Keepers, founder Stewart Rhodes posted a long thread in support of Trump’s tweet: “We ARE on the verge of a HOT civil war. Like in 1859. That’s where we are.”

The most disturbing and worrisome response, however, came from the neo-Nazi terror group Atomwaffen SS, which published a video essentially urging members to begin taking violent action on behalf of their white-supremacist cause, as Mack Lamoreux and Ben Makuch reported at Vice. It was posted online less than 12 hours after Trump published his tweet.

“Based on the video, the group is indicating that they are choosing this moment to activate,” Joshua Fisher-Birch, a New York-based researcher, told Vice. “The fact that they mention the need to finance their operations, and their new [dark web] onion site indicate that the group is preparing for a long struggle.”

Trump’s tweet was a selective quote from an appearance on Fox News by far-right evangelical pastor Robert Jeffress, who told Fox’s Pete Hegseth that the evangelical community was wild with anger over Democrats’ impeachment inquiry of Trump:

I do want to make this prediction this morning: If the Democrats are successful in removing the president from office, I’m afraid it will cause a Civil War-like fracture in this nation from which this country will never heal.

Charlie Warzel observed in The New York Times that “Invoking civil war—even indirectly—was once a third rail of modern American presidential rhetoric. Though Mr. Trump in the past has openly toyed with illiberal notions (ignoring term limits, not accepting election results should he lose), his casual suggestion that his ouster might lead to bloodshed felt like uncharted territory.”

More than that: It also clearly sent a signal to the same heavily armed, militant, and violence-minded element in the Trump-supporting populace that has produced multiple acts of domestic terrorism directly influenced by his eliminationist rhetoric.

We’ve already observed, in the person of the #MAGAbomber, the mechanism of scripted violence at work with Donald Trump’s public pronouncements and particularly his targeting of individuals and organizations. Men like Cesar Sayoc see themselves as “warriors” in a larger fight against evil itself, which in their view is embodied by liberals and leftists. This is why so many right-wing Trump supporters speak so eagerly of launching a “civil war” against urban liberals.

Columbia historian Nicole Hemmer warns:

When the President invokes violence—as in a civil war—he sends encouragement to supporters already primed to perceive a coming apocalypse. In the world of white power, where a civil war is a race war, the President's words have particular resonance. White power activists have long embraced a form of violent nationalism (or violent racism cloaked in nationalism), that is always on the lookout for enemies, from Vietnamese immigrants to black churchgoers to, at times, the federal government itself.

Harvard professor John Coates warned that the tweet itself could be considered an independent count against Trump in any impeachment. Even at Fox News, analyst Andrew Napolitano was outraged: “The president’s allusions to violence are palpably dangerous,” wrote Napolitano. “They will give cover to crazies who crave violence, as other intemperate words of his have done.”

“This language is a dog whistle to the deranged,” he added.

Fisher-Birch didn’t believe the Atomwaffen video, which featured an interview with the elderly author of a neo-Nazi text titled Siege, was necessarily associated with Trump’s tweet. He noted to Vice that it was published on the birthday of Savitri Devi, an important figure for the ideology of Atomwaffen and the author, James Mason. “Devi’s teachings,” the story notes, “contain a bizarre mix of Nazism, environmentalism, and occultism, and she remains an immensely important figure of the extreme-right today.”

The broader effect of Trump’s tweet is more likely to be seen within the Patriot/militia movement, where his support is intense. The president had previously suggested in a March interview with Breitbart News that the Patriot-affiliated “Bikers For Trump” organization—which had acted as a kind of vigilante security force, along with the Oath Keepers, at Trump’s inauguration—might rise up to defend him in the event of an impeachment attempt.

I can tell you I have the support of the police, the support of the military, the support of the Bikers for Trump—I have the tough people, but they don’t play it tough—until they go to a certain point, and then it would be very bad, very bad.

Oath Keepers have been involved in providing security at Trump’s rallies, too, most recently at an event in New Mexico. The state chapter of the organization issued a plea for volunteers at the Sept. 16 Trump event in Rio Rancho “to protect [rallygoers] from potential leftist violence,” because those “leftists” reportedly were planning to “shut down” the event.

Analyst James Scaminaci III has documented how Trump’s campaign made multiple connections to the Patriot organization Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association, as well as with the primary originator of the white-nationalist conspiracy theory known as “cultural Marxism,” William S. Lind.

So it is likely the president was fully aware of the kinds of groups who believed he was signaling them about a “civil war.” These are the same groups that have been eagerly preparing for one.

well have always known the senforcement agencies in the USA are prediminately ultra right wing, DOD is what 9 right wingers to one liberal as shown by officers voting for the extream example.

And we know border patrol is crtainly right wing. And we know the FBI was illegally feeding Rudy with information on Clinton.

https://news.yahoo.com/border-agent-harasses-journalist-u-205926444.html

Border Agent Harasses Journalist at U.S. Customs—Again

Quote:
A U.S. Customs and Border Protection official reportedly refused to allow a reporter through customs on Thursday unless he answered the repeated question “You write propaganda, right?” in the affirmative, at least the third such incident involving harassment of a journalist by a passport official this year.

Ben Watson, a news editor at Defense One, was returning to the United States from a reporting assignment in Denmark when a USCBP official, after asking whether Watson was carrying any undeclared foods, inquired into his profession. When Watson responded that he worked in journalism, the official began repeatedly badgering him into “admitting” that he writes propaganda, Watson wrote of his experience.

“So you write propaganda, right?” Watson recalled the official asking, a question posed at least four times before the passport officer returned Watson’s passport and allowed him to enter the country.

Watson, who covers national security and homeland security, eventually told the official that the closest he came to writing propaganda was during his time as a public affairs officer for the U.S. Army. The official was, apparently, unamused. Watson finally told the officer that he wrote propaganda, “for the purposes of expediting this conversation,” before being asked the question one more time.

“I’ve honestly never had a human attempt to provoke me like this before in my life,” Watson told his colleagues after the incident. “This behavior is totally normal now, I guess?”

In response to questions from The Daily Beast about the incident, a CBP spokesperson said that the agency is aware of Watson’s allegations and is investigating the incident.

“We hold our employees accountable to our core values of vigilance, integrity and service to country, and do not tolerate inappropriate comments or behavior by our employees,” the spokesperson said, adding that travelers have the right to ask to speak with a supervisor to address concerns they have.

Harassment of non-citizen reporters on visas by USCBP officials calling them “fake news” has been a persistent issue within the agency. In February, BuzzFeed News reporter David Mack, an Australian citizen, received a personal apology from then-USCBP Assistant Commissioner for Public Affairs Andrew Meehan, after Mack was interrogated at John F. Kennedy International Airport for ten minutes about the outlet’s coverage of Michael Cohen and the special counsel investigation into President Donald Trump.
