The answer obvious to me is the sail , is a NP. Who have a odd mast bend curve. Flex top. A cc mast won’t set correctly for optimum performance.
Of course it could set where it works, at a reduced level.
The NP sails , that I’ve had Atlas, Combat, have done good on HotSails Maui masts .
If the mast your using is a cc SDM, it will be slightly better suited. Using a non- compatible mast, results in
A. How much performance as in range the sail has
AND
B. How much you are willing to give up.

Extending a 460 by 42cm makes the cc even stiffer, further complicating the flex top ideal mast

Friends, it appears to me, we've been played. I think the playing was without malice, so hats off to ittiandro for a successful joke, and to us for responding to requests for help by trying to be helpful. (Or maybe ittiandro is suffering from memory loss.)

I was tricked too; so I googled "NP Garda sail" to try to find when they were made. One of the results that came up was a link to a 2015 iWindsurf forum: http://www.iwindsurf.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=29477&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=60&sid=c6abd2d3febe0e0c8ab1eb1aef7e985b

In the 2015 discussion started by another sailor, ittiandro was talking about a different NP sail and later said he was going to by an NP Garda 6.2 for $50. Then the discussion continued quite a few more pages with quite a bit of the same information produced in the current thread.

The odd thing to me is where this is posted, not general.
Having read questions on many forums by him, none recently except the 2here, they appear in touch with his prior ones .

ittiandro,

Man I would love to see your 30+ yr old sail out on the water!

It would be like seeing a 30+ yr old Mt. Bike on the trails or 30+ yr old skis on the slopes!

Sure they are going to perform like crap compared to modern equipment but they would look so cool, the ultimate retro!

By the way I have a storage locker full of 10, 20, 30 and 40 yr old boards and sails you might be interested in... Laughing

Yeah, even I, Mr Cheap, use sails newer than 1993.
I do have the advantage of knowledge and the availability of getting free throwaway gear by living in the SF Bay area,
My 5.3 is 1997.

I'm sure my 1985 Fisher Montare would work just like my 1996 HooKooiko, since it had Manitous installed in '87.
Just like I'm sure I ski better in my 1979 Spaulding Mystere 195's than any modern crap 160.
I constantly overturn the new short skis, and have settled for 175's, which I had in the '70's for crud and short moguls.

Wndzurfer, Steve W is looking for a 2005 Bash 6.2.
I have one, but need 50 bucks for it as that's what I paid 5 year's ago.
