Another great October day. I start with 6.5 and at the last moment pick the Isonic 111. I need to navigate to the "other side" but there the wind is enough. Then the wind comes up, I go back to grab the exocet 90 and I have a great hour of overpowered 6.5 sailing with the last 30' trying to stay way clear of the nut doing loops on the foil
Wind dies out while I am putting my stuff away. Today probably a repeat but I am taking a day off

Berk Sunday 6.9 and 111 Isonic well powered from 3-3:45, then wind rises to gusts of 18 and I pull it flat for another 45 minutes and head in as wind comes up more to gusts over 20 and I'm on the ragged edge. Easily could have been on 5.7 and freestyle board.

The Professional Meteorologists Forecasts have been mentioning NB of late. If you do not know, NB stands for Natural Bridges. Sailed there today. Was blowing twenty with gusts as high as thirty. Thinking it only going to be Autumn winds, which are usually less than summer winds, I was out on gear that was a bit large for the conditions. Too lazy to go in and change and not having brought my wave board even with me, I toughed it out on an Angulo SailSUP and my Ezzy Cheetah 7.0. Had wanted a workout and got one. Occasionally the swell was supersized off of the Marine Lab. Fun to ride when it was a size my oversized rig could handle though. I am not complaining. Had a good time. Just need to remember that even though it is glassy when I arrive. It may not stay that way. And sometimes the Pro Meteorologists' Forecasts are right...

Graham Feddersen and I enjoyed an unusual Autumn Dawn Patrol at Sherman Island Access with good wind and tide. Graham shown here ahead of me, up to his usual tricks. Fanatic Freewave L95 with 5.8 sail for me (175 Lbs.) and of course Graham on much smaller gear. Shot with my GoPro Hero 5 helmet mount, captured a still and enlarged it.

I borrow Robert's old stuff for an afternoon of slogging, foiling, and some terror
I am on a old JP 130 Slalom (240 long by 78, a barge), plus NP Flight foil aluminum, and Firelight 5.0. It is a bad combination, the JP has no low end (it is designed to go with a 7.0-9.0), the NP foil ditto, and the Firelight is not a model of stability. A lot of slogging as a result, but also there I am: foiling VERY conservatively, 10-20 cm above water ... and frankly terrified when the wind, inevitably for the Stick, comes up with "strong" gusts. Somehow I never fall, although no matter how much weight I put in front I don't seem to be able to keep the board down unless I point upwind. And eventually I have a couple of completely out of control take offs that take the board up and up, than downwind, than upwind to slam into the water. The YO-YO.
Am I hooked? I think so. It is something new to learn. With different equipment and maybe at Crissy. Still ... by the end of the day I was looking longingly at my Isonic and 7.3 that would have given me a wonderfully placid afternoon of pleasure.

Robert's setup is really hard to ride. I've done back to back rides w/ the Slingshot setup and Robert's and there is no comparison. The foil probably OK, but the board/foil/position combo seems unbalanced and hard to trim.
I'm getting the Slingshot 125 and their new FWind foil which has a bigger front wing for 2019. It's easy to fly, trim, and stay flying. Very fun!

Completely agree. Robert managed to make it work but he says that the JP 135 Foil he has now feels like a toy by comparison.
He is also 200 pounds, with my 160 pounds I am probably going to get a Flikka custom. Below is a screenshot of the plan Luka sent me. 77x208 with a 73 tail one foot off, and 117L.

A more square design, and with some very tricky rail and bottom features. From the guy that helped design and build most of the Horoue line up including the new Airtime https://www.horue.fr/boards2/new-airtime
I would consider the Slingshot if they had a 115L (and the foil assembly had fewer than 4 different metric size bolts in it! )
