Isthmus has some nice boards at a great price right now.

This doesnt say to buy at Isthmus .Does it promote them ? Over others who could have “nice boards”

Once would have been enough.

Dhmark

When I have numerous options that are similar I , make a chart (called a Ben Franklin)
I assign a number , 1-5, for each trait that I think I feel is important. YMMV, but graphics, price, company offering , bottom shape, suitability of sails I want to use, desireability ETC.

Price can be included or not, and 1 with 1 without.
The winner could show 2 things, the unbiased result or where you tend to assign a higher number, cause its really the one you want, so subconscious you fix the result.

After purchase you can always , do whats called a Confirmatory bias. The root phenomenon for buyer's remorse and its opposite is selective perception.

So if we find a great deal somewhere, we should keep it to ourselves rather than help both buyers and sellers by mentioning it?

OK, all you guys and gals who have ever mentioned a brand name you like, from boards to shops to FINS must go back and delete them from the forum.

This kind of crap belongs in the political forum.

BTW, Ben Franklin charts are equivalent to polygraph tests in that they usually support the desired outcome.

Part of my work deals with decision making under uncertainty, so I am familiar with those concepts. When I think about the single most important factor that might meaningfully differ between the 4 choices, it would be which board can be used down to lowest wind, so that I could use it more often (as suitable high wind is relatively rare for me). This could mean the lowest planing threshold, or the board which can most comfortably possibly handle a 7.0 (superfreak UL) sail. This might mean the widest (helix) or the longest (cross), highest volume (3s), or perhaps some other design characteristic. thanks for all the input, I will be happy no matter what--- new toy.

This differs from n 5.0 —6.0 steady of your initial post.

95L is not what I would consider for lightest , nor 7.0

Yes mainly for 5.0-6.0, I have the larger board 114 L which I am very happy with, but there could be some specific days and direction with very steady wind where the 95L might possibly work. The next size up is definitely too much overlap. Basically wanting the board that planes in the lowest wind, I'll figure out if it works or not with 7.0, bonus if it does.

If your happy with your 114 in 7.0 conditions, don't worry about if your next board will work in the same. Get the 95 board that suits the 5.0 to 6.0 ruff water conditions that it will must likely be used in. Skilled guys can make that 95 liter board work in a much wider range of wind and water conditions. If this is your first smaller board, it will test your skills to do the same.
