I agree with jingebritsen and Puffin said.

I have a 2015 7.5 Severne NCX, I had 2016 8.6 Severne R6, and now a 2017 GA Phantom 8.5.

I just want to add, I got the Severne R6 from Enes Yilmazer (correct boom and mast), and although the top end was incredible, and I have never gone so fast, it was not fun since it was so heavy feeling when underpowered or not fully committed.

The Phantom (2 +1 cam) is so much more forgiving and fun. I can helitack that thing in light wind.

The mast is SO important. I have used 2 different top end masts in the Phantom, both claim constant curve. One of them really makes both the top and bottom end range come alive. Do not skimp.

I usually sail freestyle in medium and high winds, so I am only sailing my slalom gear in lighter winds for early planing. I do not race.

Just curious, what twin cam sail were you using?

Ezzy Lion...2015 I think. Used it a couple times now...I like it a lot.

.

You and I are similar. Back when I owned bigger sails, I had an 8.8 Aerotech race sail with I don't know how many cams, but it would helitack on my Techno. Loved doing that!

I too prefer freestyle (and bump and jump, and waves when I can get them) on sails five-something and down.
