No limitz sumo with simmer sails?

Is anyone using nolimitz sumo masts with simmer wave and freeride sails?

I know a simmer rider and have asked, very reliable and informed source.

My 2bits are that it would be ok, perhaps the original being softer would be better of the 2 NL masts.

Normally or generally speaking mast companies that don't make sails have the mast curve , neither hard or soft, so middle of the road. Constant curve.

NoLimitz will offer advise .. Hopefully unbiased.
I have one NL original it's very fine. Lightweight compared to some top shelve masts

You might want to consider a No Limitz Original bottom with a Sumo top. Given the fact that No Limitz will sell you a mixed combination mast, it just might be the best choice. I bought a No Limitz Original mast as a replacement to use with my older Windwing Catalyst Wave sails (64/76 bend curve recommended), but I found that the top was a bit too soft. To address the problem, I bought a Sumo top and found the result works much better.

Now, if you are a heavier guy, a total Sumo mast combo would probably be the best.

I,m 195lb. Sailor.Bought 400 Sumo on that premise that I,m big work good on 4.9.traded it in for a original after using it a few times liked the softer feel of the original.my 2 cents. Question

Thanks guys, I guess I should mention I already own the 430 sumo and I like it. I Use it with my current 6.2 wave sail (aerotech). I think the extra stiffness in a 430 size is a good thing.

I am just trying to determine if the bend CURVE is compatible with simmer sails. thanks for any help!

What is the recommended mast bent curve for Simmer sails?

Are the folks at Simmer offering that when you buy their sails? I would hope so.

The Unifiber mast chart shows Simmer to be flex top, constant curve.

The original NoLimitz would be better suited , it's softer.

The thing to keep in mind is that the bend curve between the No Limitz Original and Sumo masts is the same. However, the Sumo is just a bit stiffer overall. In the 400cm mast, it's the difference between an 18 and 19 in overall stiffness. For me, the extra stiffness in the top section was just enough to change the shape in the leech in the sail with the appropriate downhaul.

From a Simmer rider, the sails prefer a softer top, HotRod or NP or Simmer of course. As well the mast that fall into constant curve, but you will lose 'some performance'

Using a stiff or hard top will make the top end control fluky.

Doing a bend test on a NL or HotRod , the bottom and center would be near equal, the top would indicate how much stiffer the NL is.

I would not use a combo to make it stiffer for this sail, Gaastra, Naish ..yes..Maui Sails as well.
