Pretty funny that Isobars, the flamer when I first encountered this forum, and the constant flamer, nearly instantly, since--has now discovered the idea of courtesy.

One suggestion--try it for a month, and convince mrgybe to do the same, and you might get better results.

So says Mr. Blowtorch!
LMHO!!!

"And you think that "because he's not like us" is NOT a racist implication?"

Why don't you ask Rudy Giuliani? He said President Obama doesn't love America, because he's not like us. We all have to guess what he really means, but I think that we can all agree that the comment was meant to be highly negative and divisive.

When you said "We simply don't believe that he has the best interest of ALL Americans in his policy decisions", what do you really mean, and why capitalize "all"?

In the realm of politics, there are always going to be some folks that will be unhappy with decisions being made. In the case of Net Neutrality, I'm sure that the executive directors at the ISPs saw the door close on potential profit schemes they were hoping to benefit from in the future, but I hardly see where folks like you and me have any real grief with the new FCC regulations. I surely don't believe that the new rules are going to hurt the ISPs in any notable way.

As far as how President Obama fits into the picture, he offered his opinion on the issue prior to the FCC's decision. That's what leaders do on critically important issues facing the nation. In the end, the FCC commissioner's decision split along party lines. I think that the correct decision was made. While the Republicans may disagree, I don't believe that they were able to effectively outline the benefits, and offer sound reasoning for giving the few existing ISPs control to manipulate internet service in the ways they wanted to. The sour grapes and negativity directed at President Obama is just convenient BS to lay blame. It's getting real old hearing Republicans blame everything on Obama, and it's far from reality.

You got me, I was attributing the comment to you and it was Giuliani. My mistake. I also agree that Giuliani's was an idiot for making the comment, but we also know that almost every politician at one time or another will make a really dumb comment, some, many times over. No need to chase this issue, it would never end.

I am not sure Giuliani's comment was "meant" to be negative and divisive, but it certainly turned out that way.

No, the left wing media did that. His comments were accurate, heartfelt, and undeniable. Here's how one op-ed letter responded to the unjustified smear of Giuliani:

"On Friday, Martin Schram claimed that ex-mayor Giuliani launched outrageous attacks and smears against President Obama, such as “Obama wasn’t brought up like you and I”. Fact: Obama actually boasts that he was born to and sought the company of a wide assortment of self-avowed communists, socialists, Marxists, convicted bombers, and America-haters including Frank Marshall Davis, his own parents, Bill Ayers, Rev. Wright, Van Jones, and many more.

Was Schram brought up that way? I sure as hell wasn’t.

Schram stated that Giuliani said Obama “has not displayed the kind of love for American exceptionalism that other American presidents have displayed”, then inexplicably cites Obama’s own admission that America is no more exceptional than other countries, naming Britain and Greece as examples. Schram added Obama’s words, “I believe in American Exceptionalism”, ignoring the fact that Giuliani very carefully chose the word, “displayed” instead of “proclaimed”. Fact: Obama’s displayed actions are usually the opposite of his teleprompter promises and proclamations.

Giuliani: “Obama has gone abroad and criticized us over and over.”
Schram: “Attacks and smears”
Facts: The Apology Tour speeches.

Does Schram or the Herald really think readers aren’t smart enough to see through such irrational, partisan accusations?"
----------------

It's like Limbaugh's honest, factual comments about quarterback Donovan McNabb years ago that the left said was racist. That's simply false.

Gotta laugh:

Giuliani is just a tired old hack trying to stay in the public eye opening for Scott Walker. Both will soon be forgotten.

Like Hillary, she just may have just screwed the pooch, as they used to say in NASA.
There are NO secrets in the Government (according to law), you know that she really knew that. But she needed the delete button to really work, so that we didn't know how many times she was asking Bill what to do, having your own server is the only way that can be done.

Oh, but I'm sorry, you were talking about Rudy.

Giuliani said, not wrote:
I do not believe, and I know this is a horrible thing to say, but I do not believe that the president loves America. He doesn’t love you. And he doesn’t love me. He wasn’t brought up the way you were brought up and I was brought up through love of this country.

Only on iWindsurf. It never ceases to amaze me how an obviously not stupid person can have opinions like this, and I then wonder if Isobars is a once in a lifetime exception or representative of a significant fraction of today's Republican voters.

If any of us with conflicting political views ever met on the beach, I would never enter into a political discussion. I could easily strike up a friendship with any of you (Baja may be the exception) and have a great day sailing and talking windsurfing.

Speaking of, any of you east coasters going to be in OBX next weekend. I'm going down Friday to Tuesday to celebrate my 50th with a little windskippy. I'm looking for some ocean side sailing partners, as I'm not too keen on doing that alone this time of year. Of course, this is all dependent on whether I can get around bajaDean's restraining orders.
