Think the Vitesse was 1982, maybe 1981. Tri Radials came out in 1983.
One hand downhaul, a little more outhaul.
Long booms for light winds, and a 6.5 in 1982 was considered only a light wind sail for longboards.
It should match up well with modern 8.0's for non planing power. |

Ok....I had the Vitesse...
and a TriRadial.... like 1982 stuff
I kept them forever thinking that a retro sail sesh one day would be fun.
But rigging the stuff seemed near impossible.
The 64sq foot TriRadial (around 5.4?) took a massive mast and boom
The Vitesse was brand new, I won it in some contest...It had a beautiful gold mylar to it
In the end, they got pitched in a dumpster...so sad.
The picture i think shows one other sail...there was a lesser sail than the triradial...more dacron less $.....but i forget the name _________________ https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=2&v=zw0MgkO7VXw |
