Has anyone had the chance to use one of these booms?

I have not seen one in person. They cost $900 and are most likely only available via special order from your favorite Severne dealer. _________________ formerly known as hodad.andy

I have been using the 150-200 for the last 15 months. With HSM Firelight 4.3-5.0 and 6.0. Very light (from memory it is 1200 grams or so), very stiff, excellent execution of every detail, great boom head. I would not mind if it was a bit less narrow but it is only an issue if I rig a sail with ultra-low out haul. I spent 830 for it. Durability seems fine although I am 160 pounds and I never break anything ... |

I have one and have owned the Chinook and Windsurfing Hawaii carbon booms as well. The small diameter is excellent and I'm 5"10. Weightlifters claim a smaller bar diameter allows them to increase their grip and control which seems to be the case with this boom.
It is the best money can buy and is on par with the Maui Sails boom having sailed that as well. |
