I like to keep a towel in my van to dry off after a session. How often should I wash said towel and what do people use to towel off while the towel is being washed?

Looking for input

Thanks

Rodent

IMHO Towels are overrated.

Have you tried one of these? There is a guy around here who uses one, and looks kind of spiffy

Buy another towel. Wash each when it gets dirtier than whatever you're drying with it.

Outcast,

Your towel jacket suggestions seems a bit formal for the east coast don't you think.

I like the two towel idea!

The towel jacket however has led to some interesting parking lot conversations.

Look, there are alot of ways to dry off after sailing....I think maybe just try some different approaches. ....... I have thought about the leaf blower trick, but really that is better for getting sand out of the van, and it IS noisy!

hi there rodent.
1.thanks for sharing this experience.

2, how often..? How often do you wash your towels at home, or does the maid do it ?

perhaps better research is available

3.purchase a 2nd 3rd or successive towel, check at a nearby thrift store for extras, you will help the needy and score on money saved

Yo Rodent it really depends on salt or fresh water. I find I can go twice as long if sailing in salt water as fresh. the salt is a preservative and keeps the towel from smelling like a wet rat. If you catch my drift.
So Shreddbob you might want to bring 4 towels to the Gorge!!

But now I have moved away from towels all together!!! Wink

Kook,

I've tried the shamwow approach but find that I need to remoisturize afterward and that opens a whole new set of problems.
