"General gorge stuff"? Some guys use only sinkers, some experts use only big boards, some use only Formula gear, some slalom boards, some use only race sails, some use only wave sails, ditto fins ... we need more info on your preferences. At the very least ... and don't overlook the hype factor ... comparing their performance descriptions and any magazine reviews will help you and us narrow down your choices, which may change with size. What performance features are most important to you? |

As in I dont intend to use them for "wave" sailing. I mostly do speed and carving, I dont really swell ride. For comparison, Ive always like naish forces. I like a steady pulling sail that transitions progressively from on/off. I looked at reviews but they seem to be mostly fluff and dont really help much.
Combat is an "all-around wave", atlas is a "freewave". Im mostly concerned with whether the no limitz masts will work with them. Im trying to move to a set of one type to make it easier to pick sizing, instead of the random assortment I have now. |

Wise move, grasshopper. We all went through that phase for years before we gained the wisdom to break out of it and before we got access to swap meets and seasonal blowouts to ease the financial hit. |

Alpha is the big guy Euro wave sail.
Combat is the little guy tough wave sail.
No speeding with either.
Most guys will say, those year NP' WAVE sails don't work well with any RDM.
No Lim's are the softest bottomed RDM's.
I use PX RDM's on NR's (Alpha's predessor) just fine....when I weigted 143 lbs. |

Rig it on your mast.
You will find, the bottoms are too flat, while the top doesn't twist off the correct NP designed ratio.
PX RDM's are a much stiffer bottom and almost work, but SDM, even 30%, is rangier. |

Not to deter you from your trip to NW, but surely you know that the swaps are full of quivers, often at incredible savings on really nice sails. |

of course, but theres no time to research and compare and make sure everything matches at a swap meet. Ill check there first though of course. A nice set of naish forces might be great... |
