From what I see the road is open for 4 wheel drive vehicles as this time.
I would think repairs should be complete soon for all access via the roadway
and if needed a ferry ride would still work ?
sound right ?

Evans, come on man, keep your pet on a leash! Or at least put one of those buried electrical fences around your yard.
I've always known that they're out there... but that's pretty, uhh, concrete knowledge right there...

Haha! It *does* seem like a pretty isolated stretch of road sometimes.... watch your back!
I drove from Nag's Head to Avon at around 10pm the other night. I passed one car just when I pulled onto 12 at Whalebone Junction, and then just one more car that was leaving Avon as I was arriving. That's two cars over about a 40 mile stretch of highway, including passing through the villages of Rodanthe, Waves, and Salvo!!!
Apparently everyone's bedtime is 9 pm during the winter.

Andy, I had the same experience driving back to NH from Hatteras one April. 2 cars between Albany NY and Brattleboro,Vt after 14 hours driving. But it was 3 am to be fair.

Wow, that's crazy! Route 7 is a busy road between 7 and 8 am... Hard to imagine it empty!
