Im working on getting some music for my new waterproof Mp3 for next season and was looking for some suggestions for windsurfing music, mostly 80's rock (i do 80s rock for windsurfing and 80s pop for skiing) I was alive in the 80s but mostly rocking to winnie the pooh songs, so I could use some suggestions...

Radar Love
Born to be Wild
60's and 70's stuff but great driving songs so they should make good sailing songs. I've never considered listening to music while sailing. Never had an iPod or similar.

You might want to consider some reggae tunes, like some classic Bob Marley favorites. Often windsurfing videos incorporate reggae to bring out a laid back island style with a great beat.

I've been listening to music while sailing for a couple of seasons now. But I go for the "pop" music. It comes down to listening to whatever you like. I tend to like the same music for working out that I use while windsurfing. The bonus is that while working out, you think of windsurfing but not the other way around. At least for me... Cool

Well. here's what I used for the 2012 Gorge Video.

Lock In.....................The Empresarios
Post Modern Sleaze....Sneaker Pimps
Buona Sarah.............Tosca
Lonely Boy ................Black Keys
The Whales ..............The Mermen
Sitargazer ................International Velvet
In the waiting Line......Zero 7
1..............................Joy Zipper
Reach for the Sky......Social Distortion
Ready Steady Go.......Paul Okenfold

But I warn you, I have a penchant for the avant-garde

I think 80s rock music captures the spirit of windsurfing best, since the 80s was its time it really took off (that or Ive watched one too many gorge videos on youtube set to 80s rock...). There will definitely be some reggae and modern surf music (aka sublime, 311 etc. whatever you call that stuff).

The Mp3s are on amazon, the waterproof ipod one is the best, but a bit pricey. Im getting the connected one thats contained in one loop so that there are no wires, and plan to tie it to my wetsuit with a piece of fishing line just in case it comes loose. If your brave you can get one of the waterproof bags and throw your phone/ipod in it.

Personally I really don't trust any electronics that say "waterproof" unless they are true Marine equipment. So I went with a simple IPod shuffle for my player and a waterproof case such as this one.

I've never had one leak. I tend to replace it after one or two seasons because the little tiny electric wires that plug in tend to wear over time and eventually they fail. BUT keep in mind that is after being used over 100+ times for several hours at a time. This keeps it simple for me. If it ever does fail, then my IPod shuffle is pretty cheap (I have a better MP3 player for normal use that I don't take in the water) and I don't have a problem replacing it. However after about 6 years it's still going strong...
