Peter, thanks for the advice. NE at Dux was great the other day especially blitzing alongside the outer sandbar. If it shifts to straight North, I was thinking that I might go to Fogland instead. Forecast for slightly less wind there but no issues with the tide with a standard fin, and very safe in the cove if I end up sailing by myself. Rain goggles Shocked

Have a great time Wed AM, looking forward to seeing the speeds you guys are able to achieve !

Lars, The park north of Dock and Dine is open. It looks to be a bit too cold for me however, but am looking towards Friday, and next week, warm and sunny!

Paul,

Temps are not too bad if you slip on a layer of polypro thermals or fleece underneath. Thinking of using my steamer, but can also use my baggy nylon drysuit (OS Systems) , which I typically use for subfreezing windsurfing. Nice thing is that the water is still relatively warm.

I am guessing I will get myself on TV again (as usual) as the news crews are out and about reporting on people boarding up for this storm. I am expecting them to show up at Dock & Dine given that location is the easiest accessible to the wind and waves.

Slinky,

Got down to Old Saybrook (Dock & Dine), but my access to the launch was behind a police line (due to the damage of Dock & DIne). Drove over to the public access just north of there near North Cove. Was out there for about an hour and a half. Supposedly I got myself on TV again. Had some bad luck on my way home. Hit some road debris on Rt. 9 which damaged the lower part of my bumper and got a flat tire about a mile later. Crawled the car to the Aircraft Road exit and found a place to park to change the tire. Tire was in pieces. Oh well. the studded snows were getting a little worn anyway. I have a new set in the basement.
