Bill
It is great that you guys are getting it now
But sad that it will be done for the AWT
Abide team is aborting the run to OBX for the AWT
Planning to stay here and enjoy the surf.
Not worth it for us to drive to OBX for no wind.
Will try next year

Ah, you guys up there should not give up yet!?! We are going to have killer conditions over the next three days with today featuring S wind and Sunday, Monday, Tues, and perhaps Wed featuring NE. Big swell in the water for the extended as well! Epic Ocracoke possible?! The expression sessions before the contest will likely draw the biggest photo/video coverage.
Though, yea, the actual contest window wind forecast does not look too promising right now, yet we will still likely run "light air wave" heats on the south side and with the swell that will be here, it should be quite fun!
Who knows though, next week is a loooong way off for wind forecasting, so that Fri/Sat wind forecast could likely change?!!
Of course, there is also all the nightly activity happening during wave jam week!
All in all, you all should not let the contest window late week "wind forecast" keep you from coming, especially if you plan to be here for the first half of the week! Beauty of wavesailing, strong wind is not necessarily the prime ingredient! And looking at the swell forecast next week, we will definitely have surf!
For a little taste of what the contest will offer, likely this, though perhaps a little bigger!?!
