I was wondering if anyone can give me any insight re: the comfort of this harness? I'm looking for something that is well-padded.

Thanks!

I've been using the T4 since it came out.
I find it to be very comfortable with and without a wetsuit.
It's well-padded and stays put. Should give me several more seasons of use.

I just remember getting my husband a T2 or T3 (can't remember) and it wasn't as padded and firm and that really bothered him.
Thanks for the input!

Do you two know for a fact that he wants/likes waist harnesses? Many people do not, and there's much more difference between waist and butt harnesses than between two waist harnesses.

Yes, my husband uses a waist harness since he does freestyle. It's what he prefers. I currently uses a Dakine Pyro which he likes because of the amount of padding. He purchased a T2/T3 in the past and returned it because it wasn't padded enough and wasn't comfortable.

If he has a chance to try on the T4, of course that would be best. My previous harness was the original Thermoform. I used it for a couple or 3 years until it started to break down (my harnesses live in and get heat-cycled in a van). The T4 seems much firmer than the TF but still feels comfy and padded enough for me when I'm lucky enough to sail without a wetsuit.
I prefer the T4 to the Wahine versions because it feels wider over my back and spreads the load evenly. I also prefer the posi-lock buckle system to other options from Dakine.
YMMV

We don't have a windsurf shop nearby so trying one on is a problem. I just wish they would take photos from the top and bottom so that I can get a better idea of the padding. I guess if all else fails I can return it if he doesn't like it.

For me, I like the Wahine. I've had this one in particular for several years and don't want to get a new one because there isn't one w/ a posi-lock and the padding isn't the same.

They are comfortable enough, however they do seem to run small. I have a 32" waist and bought a medium however, with a wetsuit on, I can barely close the thing.
I just never thought of getting a "large" at my size. Be sure to allow an inch or 2 for the wetsuit unless you live in Hawaii!
