A friend of mine forgot to load his 9' white Real Wind the other day at the event site. Has anyone seen it? call 541-806-3573 or 490-5588 |

The first time I found an abandoned board on the beach, I called the local dealer/shaper, who had already received a panic-stricken call from its owner. The shook-up owner all but French-kissed me when I returned it.
Wish he had been a gurl.
Lessons learned:
• Be careful whose gear you find.
• Stand back if the loser is a loser or the wrong gender.
• Don't call the shop unless you're willing to give it up; the new board I found was precisely my next intended purchase.
• Take all your toys, but don't start drinking until they're all loaded in your van at dusk.

I would like to assume the best and assume that who has it was on way out of town and will bring next time..
there have been issue of unattended gear being picked up and/or scavenged at all hours , even after dark.
Sometimes such gear is sold for a profit!
Dan was on it and had zero tolerance for this stuff. Some who did not like his vigilance complained to the port and encouraged others to complain on anything they did not like.
He really did protect our stuff, now we have no one.
Without his vigilance with lost and found, it s likely complaints would never have gathered traction to upset those who lobbied constantly for complaints.
Dan had his foibles but our gear was safe! |

I used the word gear which is general; enough to include , anything left on the beach. It s senseless to discuss which water sport is in question or who does what.
The post I wrote relates to the problem of gear scavenging and/or theft of ANY gear left.
That sucks! |

I'm afraid I would have to clean up my pottie mouth first.
I mean if folks were calling him sexist, can you imagine how much trouble I would get in? (ha ha). |
