.behind a cold front...northwest winds will increase and usher in
a cooler airmass. the combination of the two will create sustained
winds of 15 to 25 knots with gusts up to 30 knots tonight through
tuesday afternoon. the winds will diminish tuesday evening when
high pressure moves into the region.

the national weather service in green bay has issued a small
craft advisory...which is in effect from 7 pm this evening to
4 pm cdt tuesday. 

* winds...northwest winds increasing to 15 to 25 knots with gusts
  up to 30 knots tonight through tuesday afternoon.

* waves...increasing to 1 to 3 feet tonight and 2 to 4 feet on tuesday.

precautionary/preparedness actions...

a small craft advisory means that wind speeds over 20 knots or
waves greater than 4 feet are expected to produce hazardous
conditions to small craft. inexperienced mariners...especially
those operating smaller vessels should avoid navigating in these
conditions.

.a strengthening cold front will be sweeping across the near shore
waters of lake michigan late this afternoon and evening. colder
air behind the front will affect the nearshore waters overnight
into tuesday morning resulting in occasional gusts to 25 knots.  

the winds will diminish later tuesday morning and afternoon. a
small craft advisory has been posted.

small craft advisory...which is in effect from 7 pm this evening
to 1 pm cdt tuesday. 

* winds: variable winds becoming southeast this morning and then
  veering to the west to southwest this afternoon and increasing
  to 10 to 20 knots. the winds will continue to veer to the
  northwest this evening with occasional gusts to 25 knots
  overnight into tuesday morning. 

* waves: will remain between 1 and 3 feet due to strongest winds
  becoming offshore tonight.

precautionary/preparedness actions...

a small craft advisory means that wind speeds of 23 to 33 knots
and/or waves greater than 4 feet are expected to produce
hazardous conditions to small craft. inexperienced mariners...
especially those operating smaller vessels should avoid
navigating in these conditions.
