* flood advisory for...
  calhoun county in south central michigan...
  gratiot county in central michigan...
  clinton county in south central michigan...
  eaton county in south central michigan...

* until 815 pm edt tuesday

* at 820 pm edt, gauge reports indicated that between one and two 
  inches of rain has fallen across the area. this combined with a 
  saturated ground will have the potential to cause minor flooding. 

* some locations that will experience flooding include...
  lansing, alma, charlotte, albion, st. johns, marshall, eaton
  rapids, ithaca, waverly, east lansing, grand ledge, st. louis,
  battle creek, potterville, homer, union city, breckenridge,
  bellevue, carson city and elsie.

additional rainfall of around an inch is expected over the area 
through tonight and into tuesday. this additional rain will result 
in minor flooding.

precautionary/preparedness actions...

turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

at 825 pm moderate to heavy rainfall continued across the area. 
rainfall amounts of one to three tenths per hour are falling. 
rainfall intensity will diminish a bit tonight, however additional 
rainfall of around an inch is likely through tonight and into 
tuesday.

kalamazoo, portage, ionia, hastings, belding, portland, westwood,
middleville, vicksburg, lake odessa, galesburg, nashville,

western and central lower michigan through this evening. over an

at 647 pm edt, doppler radar indicated steady rain across the 
warning area...some of which was heavy.  the rain will continue for 
much of the night.  

as of 600 pm edt...storm total rainfall amounts ranged from around 2 
inches in the grand rapids to holland region...to 3 to 4 inches from 
hart to white cloud area.   locally higher amounts have occurred. 
additional rainfall amounts in excess of an inch are possible into 
tuesday.

flooding of small streams...urban and poor drainage locations are 
possible as we go through the night.  considerable rises are 
expected on plaster...buck and indian mill creeks through kent 
county.

some locations that will experience flooding include...
grand rapids, muskegon, holland, grand haven, allegan, plainwell,
lowell, hart, newaygo, white cloud, wyoming, kentwood, walker,
shelby, muskegon heights, east grand rapids, hudsonville, rockford,

inches from ludington to baldwin with likely higher amounts across 
southern parts of mason and lake counties.  much of van buren county 
has seen around 2 inches up to this point.  locally higher amounts

possible into tuesday.
