waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest
1/3 of the wave spectrum. occasional wave height is the average of
the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.synopsis...a cold front over the upper great lakes will plow 
across lake ontario late this evening. an expansive 30.3 inch 
high centered over northern ontario thursday morning will then 
build across all of the great lakes thursday afternoon through 
friday before moving slowly into quebec and northern new england 
saturday and sunday.

.overnight...southwest winds 10 to 15 knots becoming west
15 to 20 knots. scattered showers. waves 1 to 3 feet building to 
3 to 5 feet. 
.thursday...west winds 15 to 20 knots. waves 3 to 6 feet. 
.thursday night...west winds 15 to 20 knots becoming northeast.
waves 2 to 4 feet subsiding to 1 to 3 feet. 
.friday...northeast winds 5 to 15 knots becoming northwest. waves
1 to 3 feet subsiding to 1 foot or less. 
.friday night...northwest winds 5 to 15 knots becoming northeast
15 to 20 knots. waves 1 to 3 feet building to 2 to 4 feet. 
.saturday...northeast winds 15 to 20 knots becoming east and
diminishing to 5 to 10 knots. waves 1 to 3 feet subsiding to
1 foot or less. 
.sunday...east winds 5 to 15 knots becoming southeast. waves 1 to
