...flood watch remains in effect from friday evening through
sunday evening...

the flood watch continues for

* portions of new york and southern vermont, including the 
  following areas, in new york, hamilton, montgomery, northern 
  fulton, northern herkimer, northern saratoga, northern warren, 
  northern washington, southeast warren, southern fulton, 
  southern herkimer, and southern washington. in southern 
  vermont, bennington, eastern windham, and western windham. 

* from friday evening to sunday evening.

* a strong cold front will track eastward across our region
  saturday with moderate to heavy rainfall, possibly exceeding one
  inch in some areas. warm temperatures ahead of the cold front
  will cause snow melt. the combination of rain and snow melt is
  expected to produce runoff into area rivers, resulting in
  possible minor flooding this weekend. flooding is also possible
  in poor drainage and low lying areas, especially where snow
  blocks storm drains. 

* areas of the western mohawk valley, the upper hudson, the 
  southern adirondacks, lake george saratoga region and southern 
  vermont are the most vulnerable to minor flooding.

...flood watch in effect from saturday morning through sunday
evening...

the national weather service in binghamton has issued a

* flood watch for a portion of central new york, including the 
  following areas, northern oneida and southern oneida. 

* from saturday morning through sunday evening

* a cold front will bring a quick shot of moderate to heavy
  rainfall on saturday afternoon. this rainfall combined with
  significant snow melt will increase runoff into rivers and
  streams around the county. minor flooding will be possible from
  saturday into sunday.

* smaller streams and creeks will be most at risk for high flows
  and potential flooding, but there is also a chance for some
  flooding along larger creeks such as fish creek, oneida creek,
  oriskany creek, sauquoit creek and the black river among others.

the flood watch continues for

* all of northern new york and central and northern vermont. 

* from friday evening through sunday evening

* minor to locally moderate flooding is possible due to the
  combination of snow melt and rainfall amounts between a half and
  one inch. the flood threat will be highest on rivers and streams
  where ice breakup occurs, primarily across northeast new york
  and northern vermont, primarily north of route 2. note that
  localized ice jam flooding could begin on friday, while the bulk
  of any flooding is expected after rainfall on saturday.

the flood watch continues for

* a portion of central new york...including the following 
  counties...jefferson...lewis and oswego. 

* from friday evening through sunday evening.

* deep low pressure system moving through the great lakes will 
  produce several periods of rain, with total rainfall from 
  friday through saturday of around an inch. much warmer 
  temperatures will also result in very rapid snowmelt across 
  the tug hill plateau and western adirondacks. 

* flood potential will initially impact smaller streams which 
  drain the tug hill plateau and western foothills of the 
  adirondacks, with flooding possible in low lying areas and 
  near streams friday night through saturday. the larger rivers 
  will then see significant rises later saturday and sunday with 
  flooding possible along the entire reach of the black river 
  and tributaries in lewis and jefferson counties, and possibly 
  the salmon river and other smaller rivers in northern oswego 
  county.
